This game is based off the 1994 FOX animated series and I got a chance to play it for a couple of minutes yesterday. So far, I think this game was great when I was a kid but now that I'm more mature and know alot about crap games, I think this one might fit the bill. I was having a hard time trying to control Spider-Man and make him jump on some platforms.

I'll try to play this game another day. I still got other things to do.E-Manhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07847662840092248580noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5432030296602391849.post-17341005404642845662010-02-19T19:43:00.000-08:002010-02-19T20:02:53.034-08:00Comix Zone & Spider-Man Added!! My most recent purchase was about a month ago when I finally bought a CIB of Comix Zone. So far the game lists for my Genesis Collection is coming to a close. The only games I'm trying to get my hands on still is Ghostbusters, Contra: Hard Corps, and Kid Chameleon. I had a copy of Kid Chameleon months ago but appartently the game didn't work.

Just now, I purchased Spider-Man, the 1994 animated series game based off the televison series. I'm still working on trying to beat Castlevania: Bloodlines but that's still a hard task to do.E-Manhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07847662840092248580noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5432030296602391849.post-61916591784033182142009-10-22T09:17:00.000-07:002010-02-25T09:50:48.144-08:00Carnage to the MAX!!I know, I know - I haven't paid much attention to this site but I'll try. Yesterday I got another CIB Genesis game entitled: Spider-Man / Venom: Maximum Carnage. It's your basic Streets of Rage clone game but with Spider-Man this time beating up on nothing but street thugs and hobos. I haven't sat down and tried it out yet but just looking through the manual the game has over freakin' 20 stages!!E-Manhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07847662840092248580noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5432030296602391849.post-27901856811186780282009-07-08T20:08:00.000-07:002009-07-08T20:26:52.203-07:00"I'm Batman!"
Yes, the CIB of Batman: The Video Game is finally in my hands. I got this off of eBay for around $11.75. While this game is really hard to come by CIB off of eBay, I thought it was a nice price I paid for it. One thing I noticed when I took my first glance at the box was the screenshots on the back of the box. WTH? These screenshots are from the NES Batman game. How odd is this? I guess Sunsoft screwed up on this game package and probably others. Oh well, no big deal here. It might be worth something. Right?

This game and the NES Batman game are the best Batman games based off the movie. Ok, so Batman Returns on NES and SNES count as well so I'll include those too. The Genesis' Batman game features the only time where you can control both the Batmobile and the Batwing. Freakin' awesome!! Oh, and lets not forget about the BGM on this game. Sunsoft sure knows how to put together some great tunes for their games.
E-Manhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07847662840092248580noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5432030296602391849.post-58345298502050154902009-07-06T19:21:00.000-07:002009-07-06T19:29:56.720-07:00Sonic Trilogy - "BEAT IT!"
In the last 3 weeks, I decided to play every Sonic game from the first one from 1991 all the way to the final game in 1994. Everyone of these games I blazed my way through all the stages, special zones, and grabbed all the chaos emeralds to get all the games' good endings. Now, I have played Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 to death since the time I owned a SEGA Genesis in the mid 90's, but I have never had the chance to play Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles. Yes, Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles are two games but really they're one game all together. It seems Japan didn't have enough space to put in 14 Zones into one cartridge so they decided to split them into two. This explains why Sonic 3 only contain 6 stages while Sonic 2 had 11-12 overall. I have beaten Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles but I never had the chance to play the infamous Sonic 3 & Knuckles which combines these two games into one. So, 3 weeks ago I decided to go through the Sonic trilogy and began to play the first game one week, then Sonic 2 the following week, Sonic 3 the week after that and finally just yesterday I played the rest of it to finally conclude my Sonic Trilogy run on Genesis.

While playing through Sonic 3 & Knuckles for the first time in my life I noticed some differences compared to the solo game of Sonic 3. First, Knuckles' theme from Sonic 3 is changed to the theme from Sonic & Knuckles. Second, the first zone bosses' theme from Sonic 3 are also changed to the theme from Sonic & Knuckles. Third, they managed to fuse in the special stages from Sonic & Knuckles like the slot machine, and that strange white room with the energy orbs into Sonic 3. Not to mention they added my favorite gumball machine stage into Sonic & Knuckles. And finally, the changed I noticed the most was the Dr. Eggman battle at the end of Launch Base Zone 2 in Sonic 3. They completely removed the battle where Sonic fights Dr. Eggman in his mini-craft with those huge arms. Now, there is a battle on this same stage but after you defeat Eggman in your first encounter they quickly jump to Sonic & Knuckles' Mushroom Hill Zone. If I recall in Sonic 3, in Launch Base Zone 2, there was 3 encounters with Dr. Eggman before the game ended. Sure, they have the 1st two encounters but Sonic 3 & Knuckles doesn't. Why remove this boss battle from the game? Moving right along, since this is the first time I going through this game with both the games combined I managed to grab all seven chaos emeralds but wasn't able to transform into Super Sonic this time. That's odd? Luckily in this game there is a stage right when you defeat Dr. Eggman in Death Egg Zone 2 where Sonic transforms into Super Sonic and gives chase to Eggman in space in a zone called The Doomsday Zone. This stage was hard as hell. We all know Super Sonic needs 50 rings to transform but what happens when you transform, your flying through space, and your rings begin to decrease? It's a mixture of disaster since you have to fight Dr. Eggman 2 more times before you are declared victorious. Sure, there are rings in space to keep your transformation but not enough of them during the boss fight.

So finally, when you defeat Dr. Eggman, you get the ending, blah, blah, blah, and then I noticed another zone entitled the Hidden Palace Zone. Hidden Palace? So I go into this new zone and I see 7 huge emeralds representing the 7 chaos emeralds. So my chaos emeralds separate and I stepped onto one of the emeralds and *flash* a special zone!? WTH? For the fun of it I manage to beat the zone and I got a SUPER EMERALD? WTF!? There are 7 more emeralds in this game to get and now they're Super? Ok, so we have Chaos Emeralds in which transforms Sonic into Super Sonic so I wondered what would happen if I managed to get all 7 Super Emeralds? Once I completed grabbing all 7 Super Emeralds now Sonic can transform into ..............HYPER SONIC? So, how is he different compared to Super Sonic? The answer, not much. Hyper Sonic is nothing more than Sonic in Super Sonic form just glowing in different colors with huge sparkles around him. Wow.

In conclusion, I set out to take on all the great Sonic games from my past child hood and managed to beat them all again. Only this time to discover more secrets when I put both Sonic 3 & Knuckles together. In the 90's, it was Sonic's time and prime. The blue hedgehog was on top of the gaming world next to Mario of course. SEGA really gave Nintendo a run for their money at the time but unfortunately Sonic just couldn't pull out another great game since the end of Sonic & Knuckles back in 1994. Everything after that for Sonic was nothing but trash.
E-Manhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07847662840092248580noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5432030296602391849.post-90419312228019197142009-05-29T08:33:00.000-07:002009-05-29T09:02:30.218-07:00Adventures of Batman & Robin - Finally Bought it, Finally Beat it!!!
Ok, I've beaten this game already several times on a computer / SEGA Genesis emulator. Does that count? Who cares? I bought the game off of eBay for a nice price of $9 CIB and got my hands on it last week. I sat down and the played the game from start to finish and never looked back. In that same day I completed this game with out a problem.

I like to call this game a SHUMP game cause that's pretty much all you do is run around shooting different weapons at the enemies. There are a lot of reviews stating this game is the hardest of hard. Some say the Mad Hatter boss fight is the hardest. Really? The Mad Hatter boss fight is hard? Ok, I agree, but, it's only hard to fight the Mad Hatter only if your weapon you’re shooting at him is at a very low level. If one of the three weapons is at maxed level then the boss fight with Hatter is a quick and painless one. If your weapon is not maxed out, then it’s going to be a crazy, hard fight with not only Mad Hatter throwing troll bombs at you, but the freaking 3D world is going to be moving a such a fast pace while you jump and dodge the damn playing card walls coming at you.
E-Manhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07847662840092248580noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5432030296602391849.post-79325413897469595392009-04-04T15:59:00.000-07:002009-04-04T16:11:55.317-07:00Revenge of Shinobi: Finally Beat It!
By god, I finally beat that blasted game. It got on my nerves and ticked me off so many times. As of today I finally beat it and got the good ending too. All I have to say is the jump button to jump and spin is broken and is a pain to pull off when you need it the most. The game is not all bad it's just the difficulty can get to you when you advance through the game further. LOL! This game is also famous for having bosses like Spider-Man, Batman, The Terminator and Godzilla. Strange but oh well. The game was challenging but it was quite the ride.

It'll be a while since I will continue my Genesis collection since I've been busy doing other things, WrestleMania 25 and etc. I will continue somewhere in the middle of the summer so for now I'll continue to play and beat the games I have for now.
E-Manhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07847662840092248580noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5432030296602391849.post-20429512924107653552009-02-21T22:43:00.000-08:002009-02-21T22:56:28.378-08:00Three Games in One Week Alone!
In this week alone I've managed to buy these three games and get them within the same week. Now that's fast shipping! The first game I was able to buy was Lightening Force a.k.a Thunder Force IV. This game kicks ass! Second was Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi and last was the 1st of the SEGA Genesis Shinobi games The Revenge of Shinobi. All three games arrived in my hands in perfect shape and are now sitting nicely on my shelf. But Thunder Force IV rocks baby!!!

I found a great site that only relates to SEGA Genesis and has reviews of the games to read on. It's called Sega-16 and this site is very informative on games from Genesis, CD and 32X. Check it out. This is where I found more great games on Genesis like the ones you see on the right.E-Manhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07847662840092248580noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5432030296602391849.post-15122512735897628882009-02-14T11:04:00.000-08:002009-05-29T09:03:37.609-07:00Strider "1990 Game of the Year!!"Ok! I now have in my hands the so called, "Game of the Year", back in 1990, Strider. Originally an arcade game straight from the arcades, Strider is considered to be a great game. A very, SHORT, great game. I've never had the chance to play this title but I've read rumors and reviews about it. Some say it is a short game in which you could beat it in less than 30 minutes! 30 minutes? Are we sure about that? I have yet to play a game that I can beat in less than an 1 hour. One thing that sticks out to me like a sore thumb is the cover art for the game that the USA put together for it. Jesus Christ! It's a typical late 80's art cover just like Nintendo did for their games. The art doesn't even closely match that of the main character. The image on the right looks more bad ass than the image of Strider Hiryu on
the USA art cover.

Anyways, it's great to own this game to be a part of my SEGA Genesis collection. And, as a bonus, the game came with a retro SEGA Genesis poster. Nice. What's this? On the poster I see a SEGA Master System Converter? You mean there was an actual device in which the Genesis can read old SEGA Master System games? Hmmmmm.......What is left to get on my SEGA Genesis list? Well, I still need Castlevania, Contra, Batman, Batman & Robin, and etc. These games are going to cost more than $10. Maybe I'll get lucky and get them at least at the $10 mark.
E-Manhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07847662840092248580noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5432030296602391849.post-84741687715922791652009-02-11T17:25:00.000-08:002009-02-21T23:36:50.883-08:00X-Men 2: Clone Wars
Today adds another SEGA Genesis title to my collection. Today I got X-Men 2: Clone Wars in the mail and it came in good shape. But, but, but.....................one problem........................there's no manual in the damn box!!!! Aghhhh!!! I had to go on eBay just a while ago and purchase an X-Men 2 manual for $3.88. Yeah, a freakin' $3.88 for a 8-12 page manual. Why is it that on eBay when people post an item they don't describe everything they're selling? If your going to sell a CIB game you list whether if it contains the manual or game cart or etc. It's not hard folks!!!
Anyways, let's get back to the game I got. X-Men 2 is well known for being the best X-Men game on the Genesis console. Sure there is a X-Men game on the SNES but I think the Genesis X-Men games were better with X2 being superior than the original. Plus the graphics in X-Men 2 were wayyyyyy better than X-Men. Oh, by the way, I managed to buy the first X-Men game on Genesis not too long ago so it's not too far from arriving in my hands.
E-Manhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07847662840092248580noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5432030296602391849.post-42482718211506378082009-01-31T17:31:00.000-08:002009-01-31T17:32:46.119-08:00It's Been Sometime Now.......Nothing new to add here. The only Genesis game I got recently was Aladdin. Pretty much I've been caught up with other items. Now as of now, I don't actually own the actuall Genesis console yet. But, I will soon enough. Anyways, last month I bought off of eBay my 1st Genesis game that I had when I first got my Genesis back in 1993:

Sonic The Hedgehog 2

Today, I got:

Sonic & Knuckles

This game was freaking hard. Two more great titles for my soon to be Genesis collection.

"Genesis Does!"
